University Presentation

The University of Iceland, the largest university in Iceland, was established in 1911 and now consists of five schools with fifteen faculties. The University covers among other disciplines medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and public health. The School of Health Sciences (which includes medicine, pharmacy, nursing, psychology, and nutrition science) maintains strong research and teaching collaboration with Landspitali hospital. The university has an infrastructure for both education and research which enables maintenance of high scientific standards. Due to its well-experienced, highly educated academic staff, the University of Iceland is internationally recognised in the field of health care research.
